At Red Studio, design isn’t just about making something look good — it’s about making architecture that matters.

In a recent podcast conversation with Andy Delisi, we reflected on the principles that guide us every day: our passion for thoughtful design, our belief in sustainability, and our responsibility as designers to consider the long-term impact of every space we help bring to life.

Sustainability Is Not a Trend — It’s Our Foundation

From the very beginning, we’ve taken a broad, holistic approach to sustainability — one that sees the health of people and the health of the planet as deeply connected. We’re not just designing buildings. We’re designing environments people live in, breathe in, work in — and those spaces should support their wellbeing in every way possible.

A question that sticks with us and continues to guide how we approach every project — with care, intention, and curiosity — is: “How can you build environments that don’t make people sick?”

Designing for Wellness

  • Use low-toxicity, natural, and locally sourced materials
  • Repurpose and reuse where we can
  • Design for airflow, natural light, and a connection to the outdoors
  • Think long-term — about how a building will evolve, age, and impact its surroundings

We even tested this philosophy in our own home, treating it like a kind of living lab — applying every idea we believed in to create the healthiest indoor environment possible.

Because to us, sustainability isn’t a separate category of design. It is design.

Building Better Environments

We’re inspired by the shift we’re seeing in our industry — more studios, makers, and clients prioritizing people and the planet in their processes. We believe that’s where the future of design lies.

If this philosophy resonates with you, we’d love to keep the conversation going. Let’s build better — together.
