RED Studio was responsible for the interior design and finish selections for this contemporary residence in Toronto. Our design concept, which was deeply rooted in sustainable design, focuses around the design of a custom staircase inspired by the family’s deeply rooted love of music.

The grand piano by the front entry is the catalyst of inspiration for the feature stair. Flat steel bars are used to create a varying tonal quality to the space through slight variations in thickness. The syncopation of the bars creates a feeling of movement inspired by a musical score.
