FRILUFTSLIV

Event

Friluftsliv (meaning: “free air life”) is a Norwegian term encapsulating the crucial bond that humans have with nature and the ability to directly experience the outdoors as part of one’s lifestyle. This notion became the core of Conservation Halton’s inaugural gala in 2019. Red Studio worked alongside Conservation Halton and their partners for the overall masterplanning and physical design of the event; the highlight was the creation of an indoor forest in the old Quarry shed building. The saplings were later replanted on conservation land as part of creating a circular event.

The indoor forest made a strong, biophilic statement about living easily with nature and incorporating it into indoor environments.
